PRISCILLA SALISBURY | SOPRANO
Mexican soprano, Priscilla Salisbury, has been sweeping the nation with her shimmering voice and stage presence. She has created the title roles in the world premiere operas Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers, (Houston Grand Opera Co.), Lucinda y las Flores de la Nochebuena, (Opera in the Heights), Earth to Kenzie (Seattle Opera). In 2023, she will premiere the role of Maddie in Dreams Americanos (I Colori Opera). Other roles include Mrs. O'Malley in It's a Wonderful Life (Houston Grand Opera), Cinderella, Cinderella in Spain (Seattle Opera) and Casilda, The Gondoliers (Winter Opera of St Louis). Recognition for her work include The Encouragement Award from the Seattle Opera Guild Competition, two time winner of NATS Greater-Houston Area Competition in the adult classical category. Winner of the Houston Masterworks Competition and recipient of the Ugo di Portanova Scholarship at Università per Stranieri di Siena, Italy. Ms. Salisbury holds a Master of Music from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Sacred Music from St. Thomas University. She is a Teaching Artist with Houston Grand Opera Community and Learning and is an Adjunct Professor of Vocal Studies at Lone Star College, Montgomery.
