Our Mission & History

Opera in the Heights (Oh!), a professional regional company, exists to provide a stage for emerging artists and to bring affordable and accessible opera to the Greater Houston area.  

Since 1996, Oh! has raised the curtain on its main stage at Lambert Hall on Heights Blvd for approximately 350 performances and has earned a national reputation for its critical role in discovering and developing young talent and for the quality of its programming and productions. 

Opera in the Heights is a place where the next generation of great opera singers emerges to shape the future of the art form. For audiences, it is a place of discovery; not only of our extraordinary artists, but of everything we love about opera. First-timers and seasoned enthusiasts alike always find something fresh and inspiring in our intimate theater.
