ANDY PAPAS | BARITONE
Praised for his “vocal power & finesse” and “irresistible hijinks,” native Bostonian Andy Papas is sought after for his impeccable musicianship and mastery of comic repertoire. Andy began his ’24-25 season as the title role in Verdi’s Falstaff with Pacific Northwest Opera, and he returns to Seattle in September as Pandolfe in Cendrillon for Vashon Opera. In October he’s back in New England for a signature role, the Major General (The Pirates of Penzance) for Salt Marsh Opera. Following L’Italiana, he sings more Rossini this May, playing Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola for Wichita Grand Opera. Andy made his debut in 2023 with The Ojai Music Festival alongside Rhiannon Giddens, performing Owen/Johnson in Omar’s Journey, a role he reprised for the Quad City Symphony Orchestra in February. He spent this winter in Vermont as the on-snow content producer for Bromley Mountain, skiing one million vertical feet over the course of the season. Andy is a proud graduate of The University of Houston. andypapas.com
