John Allen Nelson|BARITONE

Baritone John Allen Nelson is known for his “deliciously hearty sound” with “uniformity from top to bottom.” Recent credits include: Washington National Opera as Fighter Pilot in the world premiere of Grounded and Northern Lights Music Festival as Marcello (La Bohème). Other engagements include: Schaunard (La Bohème) and Marullo (Rigoletto), Pacific Symphony; Imperial Commissioner and Sharpless cover (Madama Butterfly), Lubbock Symphony; Nicholas (Vanessa) and Alcindoro (La Bohème), the Spoleto Festival; and the title role of Don Giovanni with West Bay Opera as a jump-in. He has appeared with Opera Colorado, Boston Lyric Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, New York City Opera, Utah Opera, Minnesota Opera, and at Carnegie Hall. A Minnesota native, he holds degrees from BU, UMKC, and St. John's University.
